System Requirements

  • macOS 13.0 (Ventura) or later
  • Apple Silicon or Intel Mac
  • 4 GB RAM minimum
  • Microphone (built-in or external)
  • Microphone + Accessibility permissions

Installation

    Download the .dmg
    Click the macOS card above. The .dmg is signed and notarized by Apple, and downloads directly to your Downloads folder. About 50 MB.

    Drag HushType to Applications
    Open the .dmg. Drag the HushType icon onto the Applications folder shortcut shown next to it. Eject the disk image when the copy finishes.

    Grant Microphone and Accessibility
    First launch will ask for two permissions: · Microphone — so HushType can hear your voice. · Accessibility — so HushType can place text into any app you're using. Both can be revoked anytime from System Settings → Privacy & Security.

    Place four fingers on the trackpad
    Default trigger on macOS is the four-finger trackpad gesture. Hold four fingers down, whisper your sentence, release — the words appear wherever your cursor is. Prefer a different gesture or a keyboard shortcut? Open Settings → Trigger to rebind.
